Origin

Home-Start Blanchardstown was set up in 1988 and was the first scheme outside of the UK. Anna Lynch was the founder of Home-Start in Ireland. Joan Ashbrook is the current co-ordinator. Joan was a volunteer for 10 years before becoming co-ordinator.

Our work

Our 15 volunteers work to support 60 families through our Home-Start scheme.

We are core funded by TusLa (government)

Plans for the future

We plan to extend the crèche area to include an outside messy play area and hope to source funding to reinstate the National office and re-open the schemes.
