Anne Hart established Home-Start in South Africa in 2001 after being inspired by a Home-Start volunteer she met in Scotland. The first scheme began in Benoni, followed by Daveyton in 2004. Home-Start South Africa became a National Organization in 2005, offering home visits, play therapy, and counseling for children facing emotional, behavioral, and educational challenges.
