MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS VOLUNTEERS

 

Home-Start Worldwide (HSW) are keen to support the new volunteer(s) in every way possible. Should there be an area in which you wish to develop, HSW will support you in this. 

We are looking for a range of volunteers who have an eye for detail and want to get some real life experience of marketing and communications!

As a small charity, which would benefit from a greater online presence, you would be volunteering to create content, seeking out interesting stories from our members around the globe, getting involved in creating blogs, editing our website and updating information.  There may be opportunities to create marketing campaigns, carry out data analysis on the success of marketing campaigns and how our social media presence is performing. We will support you throughout and help you to gain new skills.

 

Marketing & Communications Volunteers tasks:

  • Social media research for better and more valuable connections
  • Data collection and research into the 22 local home-starts 
  • Journalist work with interviewing and story writing on the work of the charity
  • Marketing Administration assistance 
  • Updating website with recent news and blog posts

 Skills needed:

  • A keen interest in social media and up to date online trends
  • A creative self-starter who can bring new ideas to the table 
  • Excellent content development and storytelling skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Proficient in Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and basic WordPress.

VOLUNTEER BENEFITS

  • Gain valuable experience in International development with a small NGO

  • Reasonable out of pocket expenses

REQUIREMENTS

  • Will require references
  • Will require a criminal record check
  • Remote working and will require own computer or secure access to one
  • Available for 4-5 hours per week

ADMINISTRATION VOLUNTEER

 

Home-Start Worldwide (HSW) is at an exciting point of growth and development and we are searching for volunteers to assist us. We are looking for volunteers with a range of experiences and skills who are interested in helping an International NGO grow!

As a small charity, HSW would benefit greatly from extra help with administration systems. As an admin volunteer, you will gain hands-on experience on the day-to-day activities of a small, international charity. You will gain vital skills on what it takes to run a charity that works worldwide. 

HSW are keen to support the new volunteer(s) in every way possible. Should there be an area in which you wish to develop in, Home-Start Worldwide will support you in this. 

 

Admin volunteer tasks:

  • Setting up administrative systems including computerised filing systems
  • Ensuring that messages are logged and passed on as appropriate
  • Providing information on HSW as and when required
  • Contacting network members around the world for information and offering support where appropriate
  • Opportunity for some research and analysis
  • General admin tasks including typing documents, filing, and data entry
  • Arranging meetings and taking minutes as required

While no formal qualifications are required, we would like volunteers to have the following skills:

  • A self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision, using their initiative to complete tasks
  • Organisational skills
  • Strong Administrative skills including IT skills and data entry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken
