Home-Start Hungary

Home-Start Hungary is a family support network offering free, preventive mental health-based support to families with young children, focusing on strengthening parental competences for long-term positive effects on children’s lives. Trained volunteers, all with parenting experience, provide friendship and practical help within the safety of families’ homes. The program targets issues like isolation, community strengthening, empowerment, and crisis management, aiming to improve both family and volunteer mental health. Volunteers often gain new skills, boosting their self-confidence and leading many to pursue further education. The main focuses of our activities are offering parenting support, mental health support and community building.
