Home-Start Czech Republic (HOST) was founded in Prague in 2003 and gradually expanded its activities to four additional regions: Brno, Ostrava, Hradec Králové, and the Central Bohemian Region. The organisation focuses on supporting socially excluded families with children up to 8 years old, with the aim of:
- Preventing family separation: HOST works to prevent family breakdown and strengthen parent-child relationships.
- Providing support: HOST offers volunteer-led parental support, professional social fieldwork, and therapeutic services.
- Addressing complex family situations: The organization focuses on the complex needs of families, including those under judicial supervision.
HOST is accredited for child protection and has developed the “Family by Play” technique, which is designed to enhance parent-child relationships through play. Childhood doesn’t wait.
