Home Start Spain was developed in 2022 thanks to the efforts of the Nieru Association and the support of the Family and Childhood Research Group (GIFI), of the University of Oviedo, to bring and adapt the model in the country. Its name in Spain has been expanded to “Home Start: de Familia a Familia” and it currently operates in the autonomous communities of Castilla La Mancha and Basque Country. Its initial development has been funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU – within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (PRTR). The forecast is to strengthen its presence in the territories where it operates, as well as expand it to more communities in the coming years.
