Zambia
Home-Start Zambia was established in 2011 by Tandiwe Banda and Martha Kumwenda, aiming to create a national network of schemes. After receiving training in London and South Africa, they launched the first scheme in Linda Compound, Lusaka, and a daycare center in Northmead. By 2014, three more schemes were planned, including two for children with disabilities, supported by churches like The United Church of Zambia. Home-Start Norway has provided significant support, including the use of a house for the national office. The program also receives donations and family referrals through various channels, including a Facebook page and local organizations.
